Developed for Highroad Sports, Inc., the owners of Team Columbia-HTC, the 09 Tour de France debut racing kit was an evolution of the previous design, while introducing new/modern elements that complimented the new co-sponsor, HTC.

The Highroad trademark yellow and white was highlighted by HTC’s brand color green. Clean lines and flowing shapes create a smooth, streamlined design that pays attention to the previous edition of the team kit with its anatomical armour – inspired by moto GP and high performance protective gear. The unique look stands out in the peloton and turns heads in any setting.

In order to achieve the clean and ’seamless’ looking design, careful attention was paid to the orientation of the fabric panels and how they are joined. Working closely with Highroad and MOA, the team’s clothing manufacturer, we were able to create a design that was continuous – something not commonly seen in sublimation.

It’s been very busy around here and in light of the current state of the…ah…world, I feel fortunate for my long days. On the up side, I’d like to think there’s a light at the end of the tunnel now that we have a new administration ready to take office. We’ve been a part of some very exciting and historical times, not only on a national level but globally as well. I’ve never found myself more excited and proud to be an American and I’m looking forward to January 20th.

New Site

There are several big things going on here, most notably a very large web project that incorporates some really cutting-edge features such as Flex, a fully integrated content management system and a connection to the real estate MLS database. The new site will be the backbone of the new real estate company’s marketing and recruiting efforts, as well as a resource for its agents. I’ll be posting updates and details as things develop.

The Making of a ProTour Uniform, Preface

Another project that has been very exciting to work on is the development of a new uniform for a ProTour cycling team. For those of you who don’t know, the ProTour is basically the Major League of cycling. ProTour teams are the best in the world, competing in the largest races, such as the Tour de France.

When I got a call a few weeks back inquiring about designing a new uniform for this team, I was caught a little off guard. It’s not very often that you get a phone call like this and I was very excited to be given the opportunity to work on such a project.

Kristy and Bob have been super to work with over the last several weeks and after 11 versions and dozens of color combinations, we’ve reached a final design. I’m not at liberty to give any details or sneak peeks of the new kit, but I can say that it’s very different – not only from their design of this past season, but of ANY team I’ve ever seen. I’m looking forward to the team presentation this winter to see what kind of reception the new design receives.

Once the cat is out of the bag, I’ll be posting an article here about the process of designing such an elaborate uniform. Stay tuned.
